This is how it started. A 12 year old boy is handed his father’s high end SLR camera at an Air Show in Redmond, Oregon and told to take pictures. His father, an Air Force Veteran and amateur photographer knows his son has a creative bent and a good eye.
As the Blue Angels fly in formation overhead, the boy, RYAN LEE starts shooting away. He hasn’t stopped since.
Ryan has four full time jobs – husband to wife Laurene, father to sons Coleson and Kedrick, Math Teacher at Paulding Middle School and Professional Videographer (Founder/Owner of Ryan Lee Films). He happens to excel at them all.
He and his wife met at Linfield College in Oregon. He got a degree in Education there and did post graduate work at Cal Poly SLO, later on.
In 2000 they came to the Central Coast to make their home and begin their careers (Laurene is a Math Professor at Alan Hancock College)). In 2005, at the prompting of his family and with a lot of support, encouragement and wisdom offered up by friend and photographer Amy Wellenkamp, he created Ryan Lee Films.
Ryan is a “master of the moment”, knowing just what and when to film at a special event or celebration. He is a composed, confident and creative filmmaker who has a knack for capturing the character and emotion of any occasion. He and his immensely gifted right hand man – Matt Schmitz pair up to produce moving and inspiring films.
You don’t just get a service with RYAN, you get a person. You get genius and imagination. You get a really good individual, who is a genuinely nice guy. Just ask those who know and work with him.
